"The French Art of War", the first novel by Alexis Jenni, has now earned him France's most important literary prize, Le Goncourt.

"The French Art of War", the first novel by Alexis Jenni, earned him France's most important literary prize Le Goncourt.
The Goncourt Academy recently presented "the judges' favorite" novel as an "inspired song, bathed in blood and fighting" since it describes the legacy of the French colonial wars in Algeria and Indochina.
Alexis, biology teacher and first-time author who recently became popular in the literary world, describes himself as a "Sunday Writer".
"I don't have any suggestion, any opinion [on the subject]. I want to encourage reflection," asserted the author.
Marcel Proust and Simone de Beauvoir are among the previous winners of The Prix Goncourt.
