Nordic Council Literature Prize 2010 nominees at Göteborg Book Fair

The Nordic Council Literature Prize aims at increasing interest in the literature and language of Nordic neighbouring countries. Several of the authors who have been nominated for the prize in 2010 have been guests at the Book Fair.

The Nordic Council Literature Prize is intended to increase interest in the literature and language of other Nordic neighbouring countries, as well as promoting Nordic cultural fellowship. It is awarded at the same time as the Nordic Council's prizes for music, film and nature and the environment. The Nordic Council Literature Prize has been awarded since 1962 to a work of literature written in one of the Nordic languages. This can be a novel, a play or a collection of poetry or short stories or essays which meets high literary and artistic standards.

Monika Fagerholm, Finland, who has been nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize 2010 for her work The Glitter Stage, visited the Book Fair in 2009. She also attended the Book Fairs in 1995, 1998, 2002 and 2005.

You can listen to Monika Fagerholm talking about her latest book The Glitter Stage with publisher Eva Bonnier, in the seminar 'A story of change' from the Book Fair in 2009. The seminar is held in Swedish.
