Are there walls in between the stands?
Yes, the walls are 2.5m high, made of wood and painted white.
Are exhibitors allowed to paint the walls and/or use nails or similar in them?
Exhibitors must return the walls to their original condition. If they have been painted in a different colour they must be repainted white. Alternatively exhibitors can pay for Swedish Exhibition Centre staff to return the walls to their original condition. The same is true if exhibitors use nails or similar. All nails, screws, etc must be removed and any holes must be repaired.
Are carpets and electrical sockets included?
No. You may order these via the Stand Service at www.monterservice.com
Is there an exhibitors' restaurant?
Yes, the Estrad restaurant. You can order lunch coupons via Exhibitor Service Online, or purchase them at the Service Centre during the Book Fair.
How many exhibitors' tickets are allocated per exhibitor?
The number of exhibitors' tickets is based on how large the exhibitors' stand is. For the smallest stand (4 square meters), this is four exhibitors' tickets. The tickets are good for entry to the exhibition during all four days. If you need more tickets you may order these and you will be invoiced for them after the Book Fair.
Are the exhibitors' tickets valid for admission to the seminars?
No, they are only valid for admission to the exhibition. Admission to the seminars requires a seminar ticket. Exhibitors may buy 4-day seminar tickets at a reduced price. Order seminar tickets via Exhibitor Service Online.
I have never exhibited before and I wonder if I can get help with designing and building my stand?
The Swedish Exhibition Centre has technical coordinators available to answer your questions regarding stand design. You can also hire one of the Swedish Exhibition Centre's stand designers to help you via www.monterservice.com.
I would like to arrange for a drinks reception at my stand - do I need permission for this?
You can apply for the permission via Exhibitor Service Online; go to 'My Stand' on the website.
We would like to offer refreshments on our stand. How can we arrange this?
The Swedish Exhibition Service offers stand catering through the Gothia Towers Restaurants. Contact them via email: montercater@svenskamassan.se or telephone +46 (0)31-708 85 08. See the full range of what is available at www.monterservice.com
Is there storage space we can rent?
There are two alternatives for exhibitors who need storage space. You can either build your own storage space in your stand or you can rent a storage space from the Book Fair. There are a limited number of extra storage spaces, and these will be allocated in August when it is clear what space is available. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that any storage space you rent from us will be near your stand. Ordering of extra storage space should be done via Exhibitor Service Online.

Do you offer any tips for exhibitors?
Göteborg Book Fair is an enormous meeting place for the entire industry. There are wonderful opportunities to network, do business and publicise your products. Our surveys show that those exhibitors who have worked hard on preparation for the Fair, at the Fair, and follow up, are the most satisfied with their participation. We have listed some useful tips on the best way to use the Fair to your advantage below.
Planning
Good preparation is vital for a successful trade fair. There is a lot to consider before the Fair starts; what do you hope to achieve by attending, how should the stand look, who should man the stand, the marketing, accommodation, travel, transport of materials, any special events, and more. Start planning early!
Make your objectives clear
Start your planning by making it clear what goals you wish to achieve by attending. You might wish to increase sales or turnover; strengthen awareness of your brand; reach new customers or partners; increase membership; publicise your organisation; look after existing customers; be inspired; gain media attention or find new product or business ideas. When your purpose is clear it becomes easier to decide how the stand should look, which products or services you should concentrate on, who should man the stand, and what they will need to know in advance.
Make a budget
Decide your budget early in the planning process. The most important items will be the stand hire, staff costs, marketing and shipping.
The stand
Your stand is crucial for your fair participation. The stand gives information about your organisation and its profile, and there are endless variations on how you might want to design and set it up. Should you have an open or a closed stand? Can you use a set stand design, or should you hire a professional to design the stand for you? Your choice of stand will depend on your goals and your budget. Do contact the Stand Service for tips and ideas at www.monterservice.com
Attract visitors to your stand
You'll be far from alone at the Fair. You need to make your exhibit stand out so that you can attract visitors to it. Ideas which have worked include sending out invitation cards or tickets in advance, telling your customers that you will be there and arranging meetings there, advertising in trade journals or newspapers, sending out press releases, publicising your stand on your own website with a link to the Book Fair's website, doing a mailing or an e-mailing, setting out catalogues and brochures, and more.
During the Fair
When the Book Fair opens you have four intensive and fun days to follow. This is when you have got to get visitors' attention in the swarm around all the stands! A stand with active staff, book-signings, competitions, refreshments and/or meetings on the stand are just some ideas which have been successful in capturing interest amongst visitors and customers.
Follow Up
The Book Fair is over for this year. How did it go? Did you reach your goals? What results did you get? Your experience from this year's Book Fair should form the basis of your planning for the next fair. Make use of the results of the visitor survey, which Göteborg Book Fair sends to all exhibitors after the Book Fair is over.
